Market basics
Stocks and shares
A share represents an ownership interest in a company. In Paper Stock, shares and balances are simulated; no real ownership is transferred.
Price and portfolio value
A position’s displayed value is its share count multiplied by its latest available quote. Prices change, so both gains and losses are possible. Check quote timestamps before interpreting results.
Orders and execution
A buy increases your position and spends virtual cash. A sell reduces shares and adds virtual cash. This simulator models a 0.10% execution adjustment; real trading can also involve fees, spreads, and slippage.
Review your practice
Compare your entry reasoning with the outcome. A profitable practice trade does not guarantee future results. Use the journal to record what you learned.
